District Chairs Guide

Making an Impact

District Chairs serve as a critical link between State Chairs and Lodge Chairs, ensuring that the Elks Drug Awareness Program (DAP) reaches communities effectively and efficiently. They facilitate communication, provide guidance, and oversee implementation at the district level, ensuring that the programโ€™s vision is successfully carried out in local lodges.

Through their leadership, outreach, and coordination efforts, District Chairs strengthen the programโ€™s impact by helping Lodge Chairs engage their communities, distribute resources, and organize awareness initiatives.

Where District Chairs Fit in the Structure

The Elks Drug Awareness Program operates through a tiered leadership system to ensure broad and effective reach:

  • National Directors โ€“ Provide strategic oversight and develop national initiatives.
  • State Chairs โ€“ Oversee the program at the state level, working closely with District Chairs to implement initiatives.
  • District Chairs โ€“ Facilitate program success between State Chairs and Lodge Chairs, ensuring local communities are supported.
  • Lodge Chairs โ€“ Manage and execute program activities within their local lodges and communities.
  • Ambassadors โ€“ Represent the program publicly, focusing on awareness and outreach.

District Chairs play a supportive and leadership role, making sure Lodge Chairs have the necessary resources, guidance, and encouragement to effectively execute DAP initiatives.
